This weekend was all about the Black Panther movie. I’m not a big fan of marvel movies, but after the NYFW x Black Panther fashion show I decided to take a look at the movie from a costume designer perspective. I must say it did not disappoint. It also inspired the monochrome gold tone look for the day.
Ruth E. Carter is the costume designer responsible for Wakanda’s looks; mixing African tradition with technology and adding a dash of fairy-tale magic.
My cropped sweater with speckled colors was a playful contrast to my metallic gold skirt with a front asymmetrical cut. Yes ladies in the future our asymmetric hemlines move away for the sides and back! The muted gold Stella McCartney platforms gave me massive height and flatforms are a shoe style I gravitate towards for Fall/Winter.
Now who’s ready to board a flight to Wakanda with me?!?!
